I remember those steps.. In my worst nightmares..

Well done Sir. Doesnt suprise me at all that you irritated the masses with your enthusiam. I seem to recall that my enthusiam in China bemused you.

Keep breathing in Cuzco (hard I know). Whats next?

29's not old! ;-)

Well done on not getting robbed in Lima. I failed in that mission - you don't argue with three men with knives. And I'd been being so careful, too - staying in a nice hotel in Miraflores, not being out after dark, leaving most of my stuff in the hotel... Bastards. The only thing that actually mattered that they got was my gran's engagement ring (which had I even thought about it would have stayed at home but I wore it all the time and it never occurred to me!). Fortunately I was so paranoid about losing my photos from the Inca Trail and Apurimac rafting that the memory card from my camera was in my pocket not my camera.

Keep safe!!!

Good luck with getting a replacement MacBook power supply

The 'Avenue September 11th' will be a reference to the coup against Allende in 1973. The World Trade and Pentagon bombings are sometimes referred to as the second 9/11 in South America (so I hear).

We had the same obamaxperience coming out of Munich airport last time. And you should just see the Emglish-speaking cinema here - after the movies its as if the election were all hinging on what people voted here in Germany!
Tapas with beer? Awesome idea! In Madrid I know a place where you can get these incredible Tortillas (this cafe is known for them) and they're automatically served with a cold beer. Cheap and wonderful.
Hot Latina? Lovely Young Woman? Someone needs to get laid more I think.
Chile sounds awesome so far... get lots of pictures dude!

I never knew that you never knew that I knew where your blog was - hell I had it in my favourites and you used my machine so many times I was sure that you knew.

So here's what I think about it all. I like your blog, and I read it pretty soon after you post. I comment on it pretty regularly too. Its how I keep track of what's going on in your world, how your trip is working out and what funky new things you have discovered. There are occasional comments from me too, sometimes sarcastic... but that's our relationship, isn't it? If not then you're fired again.

Sure it could be percieved as your own personal "pissed-while-posting" fest, but to be honest what's wrong with that? This is a PUBLIC blog. You aren't required to post your innermost feelings on every topic simply because you can. I don't. There are things that I really don't want to broadcast to the world, and I havet to assume that caching and historical sites will keep my content alive for YEARS to come. All you need to do is check the Internet Archive to see how fucking pervasive the data we write is. You can't ever treat this like a diary - its just too public for that.

So obviously you need a new strategy. You're going to have to find a way of dissociating the private from the public personas, while capturing whatever it is you need to capture in each. You'll figure it out.
