At least I’m okay in the morning.

So into the pub last night and within a short amount of time we had representatives from 10 counties. Mayo, Roscommon, Cavan, Offaly, Meath, Westmeath, Fermanagh, Kilkenny, Galway and of course Dublin.

The night ended sometime around 4am when we were turned away from the World Bar not because we were too drunk(!) but because it was closing. There had however been a significant amount of drinking, dancing and of course drama.

The problem, well not so much that it was a problem, was that there was a chunk of us backpacker scum but two of the folks were here on holiday and staying in a hotel that was costing them $350 a night and I think they grabbed a significant number of rounds more than the rest of us. Luckily I missed the shots as I was busy being amazed by one of the songs they played. It brought me right back to some good (and indeed some horrific memories) of weekends in Heathrow in the 90s.

I managed to get out of bed around midday and I have now spent a very exciting Saturday evening curled up on the couch in the common room playing Star Wars: The Force Unleashed on the DS. We had vaguely agreed to meet for drinks but I’m given thought to a) never drinking again and b) alcoholism.
