I am back in London and way more tired than I really should be. Age is creeping up. It was an interesting few days but I am very much looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight. I have the rest of the week off work and I’m going to enjoy that. My new boss is going away to get married and tomorrow is his last day in the office for about a month. I’m covering a number of his more fun areas. Therefore Monday onwards will be hellish, so I may as well enjoy these even more.
More photos and more ramblings to follow.

So Sunday afternoon I headed out to Balbriggan to meetup with my friend Trev. Plan was to drop my camera and an overnight bag at his new place, head into town to see The Frames and then back to his for drinks. The plan went well.
I got off the train and wandered up to the main street. Spotting him walking towards me about halfway down the street, I headed off to meet him. Now we had a chance to catchup a bit at the wedding a few weeks ago but there was lots going on all around then so this was a few pints and a years worth of catching up to be done.
Anyway I meet him halfway down the street and there is the usual “Hiya Dave”, “Hiya Trev”, a couple of “howwaya’s” and before we even finish shaking hands all I hear from him is “Have you been talking to that girl from the wedding since?”
This would go on to be a recurring theme during the evening. It’s so nice to spend time catching up with friends…

Not bad for a camera phone eh?
“If you say that crap about live together, die alone again, I’m gonna punch you in the face”
You know when Lost gets it right, it really goes and gets it fucking right.
A most excellent night out. I’m shit at putting feelings into words but I missed this lot more than a) I had realised and b) more than I can ever explain to them.
Some photos up, including a number of portrait shots that I’m very pleased with. Slightly unusual for me but I will admit that I made a specific effort this evening to work at ‘em. I would quite like the chance to do more portrait shots, I enjoyed these quite a bit too.
It’s Friday, there is a big party on for work tonight where I’m looking forward to catching up with some people I have not seen in a year in some cases. I’m going to Dublin tomorrow for the guts of a week and it’s looking like it’s going to be a quiet day in the office.
However every single possible thing that could have gone wrong today has gone wrong.
I appear to have lost my SecurID. Therefore I cannot get into any of my work accounts, I was lucky I had my pass in my wallet and so could actually get into the building. It now turns out that our global Operations Security department don’t work 24 hours anymore and won’t be open until 6am EST.
Then I get the usual notification from my bank that I have been paid for the month. So that’s good news. Except 90 fucking seconds later I get a note from them telling me that my pay has been recalled!! I believe the appropriate response here is OMG WTF????
Email to Finance already gone. Thank fuck I am now old enough and wise enough (and burnt enough) to not live from pay packet to pay packet but still, what the fuck?
